What to know about Dominica

Dominica is a island located in between the North Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. This luxurious island is famously known as " The Nature Island of the Caribbean" due to the beautiful natural aspects it provides.The island consist of wide range of mountains and rain forest. Dominica also has the second largest thermally active lake in the world called Boiling Lake.
Dominica was colonized by the Europeans and it was the last island in the Caribbean to be colonized by them. The capital of Dominica is Roseau and the second largest city is Portsmouth. The type of government they have in Dominica is a Parliamentary Democracy but within the common wealth it is republic. The people do speak English and French patios there which could be classified further as creole. The population of the people in Dominica are mainly of African Descent, with few Europeans, Indians and Caribs. The majority of the population is Roman Catholic. The economy in Dominica is not to good. Dominica is one of the poorest countries in the Caribbean. The depend on their agriculture for the countries income. Dominica is a beautiful island and it relies on its agriculture to help with employment and trade.

How to get to Dominica
To get to Dominica you can either receive by plane or boat. Dominica has two major airports which are Douglas-Charles and Canefield. If you are planning on flying commercial the more typical airport would be Douglas- Charles. If you want to travel by boat, there are ferries in Guadalupe and Martinique and your arrival would be at Roseau . Another option for boat is coming in thru cruise ship and it would take you to piers directly in front of downtown area.








Where to Stay
The island is a very nice and friendly place. There are not to many serve crimes that go on and the roughest part is outside the Roseau area. Typically if you were visiting the best places to stay would be in the resorts of on the beaches of  Dominica.

Where To Go and What To Do
If you are interested in eating and shopping then the capital of Roseau is the vest place for you to be. There is also great view of the mountains and the Caribbean Sea. If you are looking for things to do then they gave activities like snorkeling and scuba diving. There is also whale and dolphin watching and boat tours  around the island. Also around the island they have many different falls and you can see the Boiling Lake. There are active tours and bus rides around the island so you can experience it all.
